EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The University of Texas at El Paso is removing César Chávez Day from its holiday schedule after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed state agencies not to observe the holiday in response to recently published assault allegations against César Chávez.
To comply with the directive, UTEP will no longer include César Chávez Day, March 27, 2026, on its holiday schedule.
Instead, the university will add Good Friday, April 3, 2026, so the 2025-26 calendar maintains the same number of holidays…
