A 61-year-old man, Rodney Cordova, was arrested after a SWAT standoff on March 18, 2026, in the 11150 block of East Highway 24. Deputies responded around 8:03 PM to arrest Cordova on charges including Second-Degree Assault – Strangulation and Felony Menacing. After several failed contact attempts, deputies used chemical and pepper ball irritants to safely take him into custody. Cordova was booked into the El Paso County Jail on multiple charges and is held on a $25,000 bond.
