EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Northeast El Paso residents want answers after noticing a lack of construction at the former Cohen Stadium site, the future home of the state-of-the-art Sunset Amphitheater.
The 12,500-seat venue broke ground late last November with a targeted opening date set for this fall. However, four months later, the site remains largely unchanged from the day shovels first hit the dirt.
With no visible structures erected and no construction crews in sight, some Northeast residents are questioning if there is a delay.
“It seems like they just started it and then all of a sudden they just stopped,” said Northeast El Paso resident Omar Gonzalez. “But I’m hoping it comes through.”…
