El Paso police arrest 25-year-old accused of stealing SUV, injuring two officers in crash

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso police arrested a 25-year-old woman who they said stole an SUV from a convenience store and led officers on a chase that ended when she crashed into pursuing patrol units, injuring two officers.

According to the El Paso Police Department, on Wednesday, at around 6:55 p.m., Vanessa Loreli Ronnebaum allegedly stole a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox from a store located at 3001 N. Yarbrough Drive, near Album Park, in East El Paso.

EPPD said officers then spotted the stolen Equinox near Matamoros Drive and Giles Road, near the El Paso Community College Valle Verde campus in the Lower Valley, approximately 3 miles south of where the SUV was reported stolen.

EPPD explained that while officers tried to pull the stolen SUV over, the driver refused and triggered a short pursuit, which at one point had the suspect driving on the wrong side of the road…
