The Magoffin Home State Historic Site will host a Brown Bag Brain Trust lecture April 15 exploring the impact of Prohibition on nightlife and cross-border life in the El Paso-Juárez region.
Local historian Bob Chessey is scheduled to present on how the U.S. ban on alcohol helped shape business, travel and culture along the border, as nearby Ciudad Juárez became a destination for nightlife during the era.
The lecture will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the site’s visitor center. Organizers say the program will also include a question-and-answer session and encourage attendees to bring lunch…
