Sunland Park Fire Department Adds New Tower Truck to Expand Emergency Response Capabilities

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. — The Sunland Park Fire Department has added a new piece of equipment to its fleet, taking delivery of a Pierce Enforcer 100-foot Mid-Mount Ascendant Tower, a specialized apparatus designed to enhance fire suppression and rescue operations.

City officials, including Mayor Javier Perea and Councilor Raul Telles, were on hand to view the new truck, which represents a significant investment in public safety infrastructure for the growing community.

Tower ladder trucks, such as the newly acquired apparatus, provide elevated access for firefighters during structure fires, rescues, and other emergency situations. The 100-foot reach allows crews to operate above multi-story buildings, improve ventilation efforts, and assist in reaching areas that may otherwise be difficult to access.

Sunland Park Councilman Raul T. Telles, Jr (District 6), had this to say about the fire department’s newest asset: “This investment reflects our focus on continuous improvements toward our city’s public safety and our commitment to strengthening the capabilities of the Sunland Park Fire Department in service to our constituents across the city.”

The addition of the tower unit is expected to expand the department’s operational capabilities, particularly in urban and commercial areas where vertical access can be critical during emergency response.
