EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The defense presented its case on the fourth day of Josiah Ontiveros’ trail on Monday, April 6.
Ontiveros is one of four defendants charged in the March 2025 mass shooting at Young Park in Las Cruces, which resulted in the deaths of three teenagers and left 15 others injured. He took the stand to testify in his own defense.
Teen defendant faces mounting testimony in Young Park shooting trial
During his testimony, the 16-year-old told jurors that the day of the incident, he believed he and the other three defendants were headed to a party in El Paso. He also revealed to the jury that Gustavo Dominguez, one of the other defendants in the case, is his cousin.
