EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – After weeks of discussions behind closed doors, elected officials at the City and County will vote on a new memorandum toward “future proofing” Interstate 10 for a Deck Plaza over the highway at Downtown.
Local officials will need a total $43 million by October to fund the idea as the Texas Department of Transportation moves ahead with a planned renovation and widening of I-10 at Downtown, according to a city presentation.
Local officials have until the fall to find over $20 million in order to meet the fundraising goal or miss a window of opportunity for a Deck Plaza proposal…
