EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Secretary of Public Security for the state of Chihuahua provided an update on the Torre Centinela in Ciudad Juárez during a working tour Monday, May 4. Reporters were able to see the facility’s advanced surveillance capabilities.

Gilberto Loya, Secretary of Public Security for the state of Chihuahua, showed the operation of the monitoring center, where hundreds of video surveillance cameras are connected to a computer system designed to provide a comprehensive and effective view of the city, as well as nearby highway stretches.
Although the tower is largely complete, authorities indicated that each section will begin operations gradually as equipment installation is finalized. An official inauguration date has not yet been announced, but most floors of the tower are already in use…
