EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso celebrated the grand opening of Fire Station No. 38 in far East El Paso to help strengthen emergency response in a rapidly growing area.
The new facility was funded through the voter-approved 2019 Public Safety Bond. According to the City of El Paso, the project had an estimated $5.4 million budget for design and construction, reflecting the City’s “continued commitment to upholding its status as one of the nation’s safest cities.”
Additionally, $1.2 million in Public Safety Bond funds were allocated to acquire emergency vehicles to support operations.
Fire Station No. 38, located at 14301-B Pebble Hills Blvd., is over 9,000 square feet that includes the following features:
- Three emergency vehicle bays with exhaust ventilation
- Dispatch office and IT server room
- Medical supply and equipment storage
- Decontamination and shower facilities
- Dormitory and industrial laundry facility
- Food preparation/service area, and a cold and dry food storage
- Fitness area
- Lobby and public restrooms
“Fire Station 38’s opening marks a significant milestone in our commitment to serve and protect our community,” El Paso Fire Chief Jonathan Killings said. “This state-of-the-art facility will enhance our response capabilities in far East El Paso and improve the overall safety for our community.”…
