(WJET/WFXP)– The Union Pacific Big Boy locomotive is making its way across the nation and is set to arrive in the Erie and western New York areas next.
Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest steam locomotive, is making its way through the area on June 9 and 10 as part of our nation’s 250th birthday and will be the first time it’s stopped in Pennsylvania and Ohio, giving residents the chance to see it in action.

Big Boy will be rolling into the area on Tuesday, June 9, starting in Conneaut, Ohio, at 9 am, though the Union Pacific website said there will be no public access.
Its next stop in Erie County will be in North East near the Lake Shore Railway Museum, located at 143 S. Lake St., arriving around 11:30 am and leaving at 11:40 am for Ripley, New York, in Chautauqua County…
