Case moves forward for July 4 shooting suspect

(WJET/WFXP)– The case against an Erie man accused of carrying out a retaliatory shooting during Independence Day weekend is moving forward.

According to online court documents, all charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault, were waived over to court for 20-year-old Lejanthony Hinton on Thursday.

Hinton was arrested six days after the shooting that happened on July 4 near East 27th and German streets, where he allegedly shot at another car in what police said was a gang-related shooting over a stabbing that had taken place the day before.

Nobody in the car Hinton allegedly shot at was injured, with police telling us Hinton walked into St. Vincent Hospital shortly after the shooting with a gunshot wound to his hand, despite police saying nobody in the other car shot back…
