(WJET/WFXP)– With the full reopening of the Bayfront Parkway drawing closer, PennDOT is reminding drivers that a new traffic pattern will take effect as the project moves into its next phase, though no specific date has been set as of this posting.
PennDOT said the next phase will focus on the dual-lane roundabout at the Holland Street intersection, along with finishing the concrete median on Sassafras Street Extension, requiring closures at both intersections.
The new pattern will be between State Street and Holland Street, with westbound traffic open to one lane next to Holland Street. Eastbound traffic will also be down to one lane at Holland Street.
During that time, traffic from Sassafras St. Ext. will use Front Street to get to any get to any busineses north of the Bayfront Parkway while crews replace the temporary asphalt, along with adding new curb gutters and a concrete median between the parkway and Front Street.
