September is set to be a great month for shows at PACA, with two vastly different offerings at different points in the month.
Starting Friday, Sept. 11, Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, as translated and adapted by Heidi Schreck for Broadway, will hit the PACA stage and be directed by Shawn Clerkin. Originally published in 1897, Chekhov’s play follows the lives of Sonia and her uncle Vanya, who have devoted their lives to managing the family farm in isolation. When her older, ailing father and his much younger wife come to the farm and move in, everything shifts and the order of their lives is flipped on its head. What follows is a tale of heated emotions and familial bonds put to the test, forcing the family to reckon not only with their own pasts, but the pasts they did not live…
