The SeaWolves got a superb start from lefty Joe Miller, but the bats were really quiet as they dropped Game 1 at home on Sunday. Now they’ll have to take two in Reading to win the title.
Miller got into a bit of trouble in the first, but escaped and cruised through the fourth. In the fifth, a leadoff single and a walk with no outs had him in a tight spot. Fortunately, the Phils sacrifice bunted to give the SeaWolves an out. Miller took the gift, popped up the next hitter and punched out Bryan Rincon to slip the noose. Miller and the SeaWolves were fired up, but it didn’t translate to any offense…
