Things have come full circle for one longtime Erie business owner. After decades of serving customers throughout the region, Yaple Vacuum Cleaner Centers has officially settled into a new home in East Erie, a location that carries special meaning for owner Doug Yaple and his family.
The building sits on property that was once home to the Yaple family’s dairy business, making the move a return to familiar ground. Inside, visitors can find pieces of family history throughout the showroom, including collectibles from Yaple Dairy and keepsake photos that celebrate generations of entrepreneurship.
The vacuum business itself has a long history in Erie. For nearly 70 years, Yaple Vacuum Cleaner Centers has operated from several locations across the city, most recently on East 38th Street, where generations of customers relied on the store for vacuum sales, service and repairs…
