Local advocates, police speak on domestic violence amid homicide

A 32-year-old Erie man, Sabri Bol, faces charges including homicide and aggravated assault following the death of his girlfriend, 38-year-old Victoria Ogak, after an alleged domestic abuse incident on the city’s east side.

Ogak died on Aug. 10 from a preliminary cause of death identified as a subdural hemorrhage. Her death marks the sixth homicide in the City of Erie this year.

The criminal charges follow an initial emergency response on July 26, when officers found Ogak injured before she was treated at a hospital. Following her death weeks later, local law enforcement and domestic violence advocates are drawing public awareness to domestic abuse and available victim support services…
