Tensions between the Millcreek Fire and EMS Commission and the Belle Valley Fire Department escalated Thursday night following a pair of closely divided votes that could have significant financial consequences for the department.
During its meeting, the Millcreek Fire and EMS Commission voted 6-3 to recommend that Millcreek Township terminate its current contract with the Belle Valley Fire Department. In a separate 6-3 vote, the commission also recommended that township relief funding be distributed only to Millcreek’s partnered fire departments.
