According to a release, the funding will extend the 17,000-foot public sewage service to approximately 112 homes, two businesses and several developable lots.

“According to local officials, there are numerous properties known to have malfunctioning on-lot septic systems, aged small flow treatment facilities or direct wildcat discharges into Lake Erie and its tributaries. Additionally, recent soil surveys indicate a heavy presence of silt loam in the area which is unfavorable for continued use of conventional on-lot wastewater disposal systems,” said Pennsylvania state Rep. Dan Laughlin.
