Erie Insurance employees returning to work means more business downtown

All Erie Insurance employees return to their offices this month which could mean a boost for downtown businesses.

Many local companies including Erie Insurance allowed their employees to work from home during the pandemic.

Nearly four years later, many employers have switched to hybrid models to bring more people back to the office.

Effective this month, Erie Insurance employees are returning to the office and are allowed to work remotely 52 days each year.

Work to repair U.S. Brig Niagara expected to start next week

Andy Steinmetz, co-owner of Andora’s Bubble Tea, said they’re starting to see more foot traffic as more people return to their downtown offices.

“It’s actually a lot of new faces too and a lot of people excited to try something new. I think they’re actually kind of enjoying being back and having some of that comradery and stuff so it’s really working out for us and I’m sure it’s working out for the other businesses and were all kind of really happy to get our downtown back,” said Steinmetz.
