Trial underway for Erie man allegedly involved in 2022 fatal shooting

The trial is underway for 36-year-old Derrick Wright of Erie.

Wright and others face criminal homicide charges after the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Erie man, Shannon Crosby nearly two years ago.

Four facing homicide charges for shooting during January home invasion

Jamie Smith Jr. was scheduled to be tried with Wright and pleaded no contest to third-degree murder.

According to police, several shots were fired inside a short-term rental in the 3900 block of McClelland Ave. in January of 2022.

A group of four men from Arizona traveled to Erie and were staying at the residence after allegedly selling $30,000 worth of fentanyl pills.

On Thursday 23-year-old Saul Felix of Arizona testified that a group of men wearing ski masks and carrying guns broke into the home on McClelland Ave.

Investigation continues into overnight shooting that left one dead, another in critical condition

Felix testified after shots were fired he and the Arizona group drove to the hospital as one of them –Kortez Murray– suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds.
