FAIRVIEW TWP. — A heavy police presence in a residential neighborhood Friday is believed to be related to the robbery of a PNC Bank in the township Friday morning, police said.

Police are also looking for a white vehicle officers believe was related to both the bank robbery and the incident at the Arthur Circle house, according to Fairview Township Police Chief Dennis Monk.

The PNC Bank on South Mountain Boulevard was robbed between 10:45 and 11 a.m. Friday, Monk said. A description of the suspect was not immediately available Friday night.

Information about what happened inside the home also was not immediately available, but a neighbor told the Times Leader he saw a woman who lives at the home taken out earlier Friday and she appeared badly injured.

Officers on Friday evening could be seen investigating inside and outside the residence at 1 Arthur Circle, surrounded by yellow crime scene tape.

Neighbor’s recollection

John Evans, who lives across the street at 4 Arthur Circle, said he noticed an intense police presence at about noon when he walked his dog. Evans said the property owner, who he estimated to be about 80-years-old, lived at the house with a male caretaker.
