(WJET/WFXP/ YourErie.com )– An Erie man was taken to the hospital overnight in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Erie.
According to Erie Police, emergency crews were called to the 100 block of State St. after a 38-year-old Erie man was struck by a vehicle around 1 a.m.

The victim was taken to UPMC Hamot in serious condition while the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
Police continue to investigate.
