Pampered pooches strut their stuff at annual Erie Kennel Club dog show

Pampered pooches are having a ball at the Bayfront Convention Center.

Over 1,000 four-legged friends are strutting their paws at the Bayfront Convention Center.

Competitors arrive for annual Erie Kennel Club Dog Show

The Erie Kennel Club is hosting their annual all-breed dog show where handlers and their show dogs have come from across the country and Canada to compete.

The dogs are going head to head in confirmation, obedience, and rally events

“The judge is judging I guess that idea of standard looking at how the dog competes and is bred, the purpose it was bred in terms of type, temperament, structure and movement,” said Jeanne Stiner, show chair for the Erie Kennel Club.

Their puppy competition is more popular than ever with a total of 63 puppies in 35 varieties.

One handler from Pittsburgh has participated every year and his poodle puppy, Xander, had two paws up to show his skills.

“They’re like family. This puppy was with me from the moment he was born in my bedroom and then I raised him. I sold his litter mates and I kept him,” said Terry Farley, handler.
