The Hagen History Center is celebrating the lunar new year this February. In honor of the Lunar New Year, several interns created Erie’s Ethnic Communities and Celebrations New Year.
The exhibit is located on the second floor of the Watson-Curtze mansion and includes bronze sculptures, fabrics, vases and fine porcelain.

One Mercyhurst University student and summer intern said this exhibit is timed with the Lunar New Year, which starts on February 10.
“It focuses on the lunar new year celebrated by all cultures of Asia mainly Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. They can expect some bronze vases focused on the Schlindwein’s collection specifically,” said Aurelia Goodall, curator at the Hagen History Center.
