Coroner identifies body found in Harborcreek Twp. as missing Erie man

The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a wooded area in Harborcreek Township.

The body has been identified as an Erie man previously reported missing by state police. According to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, the body is confirmed to be 39-year-old Daniel York.

Police ask for help in finding missing Erie man

On Monday, PSP was asking for the public’s help in finding York who was last seen Sunday, Jan. 28, around 5:30 p.m.

Police reported York’s last known location was his father’s lake house, on Cowells Beach Road in Harborcreek Twp. It was reported at the time that police found York’s car at that location.

According to the coroner’s office, there was no sign of trauma.
