One local tree removal service stepped up Friday to remove a tree that fell onto a house in the City of Erie weeks ago.
Windstorms that ripped through the county in January downed a large tree directly on a house on West 3rd Street. The house was vacant so there was no owner to remove it.
Neighbors calling on city to remove ‘eyesore’ tree fallen on abandoned house
Tree removal can be very dangerous without the proper training or equipment, so the job needed help from professionals. Learning the tree had become an eyesore and downright dangerous, Skywalker Tree Removal Service volunteered to clear the tree free of charge.
“There’s a lot of kids in the neighborhood and it was obviously in a precarious spot. Could have damaged the neighbors’ houses or could have hurt someone. So just we’re kinda out here pro bono today,” said Dan Walker, foreman for Skywalker Tree Service.
