Dan Laughlin, Erie County’s state senator, has formally announced he is running for re-election. Laughlin has served as the senator for Pennsylvania’s 49th State Senate District since 2016.
He is active in the Senate, serving as chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and vice chairman of the Game and Fisheries Committee.

Laughlin’s reason for running is due to his belief that there is more work to be done for Erie residents.
“You know, there’s still some things to get done that I haven’t been able to achieve yet. So I still feel like there’s work to do. I’m proud of the record that I have already. I’ve certainly built a good foundation to run on over the last eight years and I think, quite frankly, I’ve become the voice of reason in the senate and that means a lot to me,” Laughlin said.
