Erie resident vies to get nearly 100-year-old home on historic landmark list

One Erie resident hoped to get his home on the city’s historic landmark list. The home, which is located on Frontier Drive, is nearly 100 years old.

Matthew Falcone, the current owner, said after learning more about the property’s history, he believed it should be preserved.

He believed this could encourage others to apply and recognize historic buildings in the city.

“It’s a wonderful home and there have been so many people before us that have taken care of it and for us, it’s obviously of importance because of the architectural style and because of all of the different owners and the houses past. Being able to have it recognized for that and celebrated is really what moved us to put in the application,” said Falcone.

If passed, this would be the second building on the list. The first is the PACA Building on State Street, also known as the Mayer Building.
