( WJET/WFXP ) — New netting installation to cover UPMC Park seating is underway.
The Erie SeaWolves announced a netting extension project that will replace all previous field netting and add spectator protection that spans the entire 100-level seating at UPMC Park has officially begun.

“The SeaWolves would like to thank Erie Events for making UPMC Park a first-class destination for family fun,” Greg Coleman, SeaWolves’ president said. “Knotless technology delivers safety and optimal visibility, and the design will preserve field access in multiple locations for promotions and pre-game autographs.”
The project began this week and is expected to be completed within the next few days.

According to a release, the product being installed is Ultra Cross® Knotless Netting, “a low-profile design to give spectators the maximum amount of visibility” that is more durable and stronger than the leading knotted style of netting.
