Erie parishioners pass out over 100 chili meals for Super Bowl Sunday

Ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, a local organization cooked over 100 meals for Saint Peter’s parishioners.

The local Knights of Columbus spent some three days this week cooking chili to be sold and picked up after mass Sunday morning.

It’s something that went so well last year, that they decided to continue it again in hopes of making it an annual fundraiser.

“We had a good successful year last year, and this year was a little more successful. We raised over $1,300, we sold 117 meals, and everybody seems to like it. So it’s going to come back again next year,” said Thomas Cooper, treasurer for the Knights of Columbia.

Four volunteers spent roughly three days making the meals which included 117 total 16-ounce servings of chili with cheese, crackers, and slices of cornbread.
