( WJET/WFXP ) — Saint Vincent Hospital is hosting a blood drive as the Community Blood Bank (CBB) faces a critical shortage.
On March 14, Saint Vincent Hospital, located at 232 W. 25th Street, will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m.

While all blood types are needed, type O-negative is particularly sought after.
To help promote donations, CBB is offering a lottery to those who donate throughout March. Each week, four donors will have the opportunity to win a $50 lottery board. Every donor will be automatically entered to win.

CBB also wants to emphasize the importance of giving blood. They stated that each donation has the potential to save multiple lives and that donations are an invaluable contribution to the community.
