( WJET/WFXP )– A Crawford County man is facing additional felony charges after sending secret recordings of his meetings with his attorney to the victim he’s been accused of strangling.
According to PSP Meadville, troopers were first notified on Feb. 1 that Dustin Powell, 33, of Saegertown, had secretly recorded meetings with his attorney when they were discussing his strangulation case.

Allegedly, Powell then sent those recordings to the victim he’s accused of strangling in an attempt to dissuade her from appearing in court.
He’s now facing felony intercepting communications, disclosing intercepted communications, use of intercepted communications and misdemeanor obstructing administrative law and other government functions.

According to court records, Powell had previously been arrested and charged with two counts each of simple assault and strangulation by applying pressure to the throat or neck along with four counts of harassment during a domestic incident in Nov. 2023.
