( WJET/WFXP )– The Millcreek Township Supervisors have unanimously voted to appoint a new economic development specialist to the Millcreek Township General Authority board.
Township supervisors appointed nationally recognized economist Laith Wardi to fill the open position on the general authority during their Feb. 13 meeting.
Millcreek official says buildings on West 8th will be leveled before the eclipse
Wardi’s role will be to direct the marketing and redeveloping of the Presque Isle Gateway District properties along West 8th St. which are set to be demolished before April’s solar eclipse.
“The Gateway District is one of the most important economic projects in this area of Pennsylvania and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said MTGA Member Laith Wardi.
Millcreek Township supervisors voice desire to move Belle Valley Fire Dept. location
Wardi earned his economic development certificate through the International Economic Development Council and has served as an instructor for the organization and Oklahoma University, teaching over 10,000 economists during his time with the International Economic Development Council.
