It’s become a beloved haven for cat lovers and felines alike, and on Wednesday, the Purrista Cat Cafe celebrated its second anniversary.
This downtown business is more than just a place to get a cup of coffee. It also partners with the nonprofit “Because You Care” to get cats and kittens forever homes.

Dena Rupp, the cafe’s owner, said she’s proud of all they’ve accomplished.
“This has been a crazy ride, but with the help of the community, with downtown Erie, with my volunteers and with my employees, we’ve been able to help over 200 cats in two years, so this is a wonderful time,” said Rupp.
Purrista Cat Cafe also hosted a number of Valentine’s Day events featuring live music and a paint and pet class.
