Project NePTWNE protesters bring their efforts inside the library

Protests continued opposing Erie County’s lease with Gannon University at the Blasco Public Library involving Project NePTWNE.

This time, demonstrators taking to the inside of the library in the space recently cleared out to make way for the project. Those with “Keep Our Library Public” are calling it a peaceful human art project.

Reported fire on W. 21st St. on Saturday afternoon

“You can see, we showed it,” said Ruth Swaney, Keep Our Library Public.  “The rest is behind those walls there. These two little rooms, collaboration rooms, are going.  All the offices in the back there are going.  The offices that were for the idea lab here have been moved upstairs.  It breaks my heart to see this library being taken over by Gannon.”

Protesters say they feel a glimmer of hope for their cause after several county council members claimed to be seeking a different location for the project.
