State police looking for woman accused of beating her toddler

( WJET/WFXP )– Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville are attempting to locate a woman accused of abusing her toddler at a Crawford County dollar store.

According to PSP Meadville, troopers were called to the Dollar General in the 100 block of North Main Street in Springboro around 3 p.m. on March 3 for a child welfare check.

Once they arrived, witnesses told police a woman identified as Candace Beshar walked into the store with her 2-year-old son who police said regularly leaves messes at the store.

When the two left the store witnesses alleged Beshar struck the toddler with closed hammer fists on his side and stomach before leaving the area.

Police said they were given multiple spellings to Beshar’s name and have not been able to find an address however child services have been notified.
