Anna Frantz leaving Our West Bayfront for Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority post

Anna Frantz has spent the past seven years working to improve the neighborhoods along Erie’s west bayfront.

Now Frantz is preparing to shift gears in terms of regional development as the new deputy executive director of the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority.

Frantz, 45, is leaving her position as executive director of Our West Bayfront on July 12. The nonprofit neighborhood organization focuses on community development in an area from Sassafras Street west to the Bayfront Parkway and from West 12th Street north to Presque Isle Bay.

She starts her new job at the Port Authority on July 15, said Julie Slomski, the Port Authority’s executive director.

“I wasn’t necessarily looking for another job,” Frantz said, “but the opportunity came up and it seemed like a really good fit for my interests. I’m really excited about being a part of what’s going to happen in the future along the waterfront.”

Slomski said Frantz will earn $125,000 annually as the Port Authority’s deputy director.
