Erie County Prison Warden Kevin Sutter retires

Kevin Sutter, who served as warden of the Erie County Prison since 2013, has retired.

Sutter, 53, submitted his paperwork and his intent to retire in May. His last day was June 24, according to Erie County Public Information Officer Chris Carroll.

Deputy Warden Michael Holman is serving as interim warden. A job posting for a new warden/director of corrections has been on the Erie County website since June 3.

Sutter, of Edinboro, previously worked in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for 19 years, giving him 30 years of experience in law enforcement.

His experience includes serving as major of the guard at the state correctional institutions in both Mercer and Albion, according to his LinkedIn page.
