‘Go Fighting Scots!’ – PennWest Edinboro’s homecoming celebrations continue

PennWest Edinboro continued their homecoming celebration on Saturday, starting with a parade through downtown.

Students, parents and alumni came to the streets of Edinboro, all sharing a love for the university.

“Oh my gosh. This is a great community, great people. It is a great campus. It’s a beautiful campus,” said Carla Pry, a parent and alumni of PennWest Edinboro.

“Just having like all the events here, and like everyone comes together and all the alumni come back,” said Damon Michaels, a freshman at PennWest Edinboro.

“Just the community, man. The community is awesome. Everybody comes together. Everybody’s super nice here,” said Dylan Reynolds, a PennWest Edinboro alumni.

Marching bands, parade floats and cheerleaders walked down Meadville Street, cheering on the Fighting Scots.

The JET 24 team also joined in on the parade fun, passing out candy to the young Scots.

Reporter Tyler Gallagher estimated that well over 1,000 people were along the streets of downtown Edinboro, but the celebration didn’t end with just the parade, but with a big football game coming up in the late afternoon.
