Your Weather Authority: Showers for the next few days

ERIE, PA – Rain showers are in the forecast for much of Northwestern Pennsylvania from Sunday through at least Wednesday morning. The rain showers ramp up early Sunday morning and then transition to lake-effect rain showers Monday through Wednesday.

Lake-effect showers could form Monday afternoon from a developing NW wind

Despite the possible downpours on Sunday morning, no severe weather is expected in the region. The weather is slightly more extreme just south of Pittsburgh.

A marginal risk is in effect for Southwestern Pennsylvania on Sunday. Erie looks fine, but there could be a few thunderstorms.

Because of extensive cloud cover and winds blowing in from the northwest, high temperatures only reach the low or mid-50s for the next four days. Abundant sunshine returns Thursday as high pressure builds up in the region. This leads to high temperatures reaching the 60s once again, and that trend continues into next weekend.
