According to reports from the scene, smoke could be seen coming out of the roof of the two-floor building.

Erie Fire Department Chief Fire Marshall Don Sauer said the fire started due to an electrical box overheating and igniting the wood behind it.

The fire shot straight up the side of the home from there, and after it was put out, firefighters opened more holes in the home to make sure that the fire hadn’t spread.

No one was injured, but the residents were displaced and the Red Cross is providing assistance.
