Viewers capture foliage bursting all over local areas

Some beautiful shots from local folks of the striking foliage in our area over the past week.

The dwindling daylight and low sun angle in October inhibit the chlorophyll-making abilities of the tree leaves, leading to the gorgeous varieties of color each year. But this year seems to be quite spectacular, most likely due to things like temperature, precipitation and soil moisture.

The balmy, dry weather has been perfect for viewing lately, and despite some showers Wednesday night and again later on Friday and Friday night, more viewing opportunities as we go into the weekend with mainly dry weather but more typical, chillier fall temperatures.
