Harborcreek family creates haunted house experience all to help a good cause

A local family is dusting the cobwebs and opening their home for a good cause.

For the last 20 years, the Pottorf’s have transformed their home in Harborcreek into a haunted thriller for all ages.

Trail of Treats 2024 kicks off Thursday at the Millcreek Mall

It started as a small fundraiser to benefit Fairfield Hose Company and now expanded to 15 rooms filled with ghoulish homemade props.

This year, they are calling it “The Harborcreek Tower Hotel,” based on Disney’s Tower of Terror.

“We used to decorate for Christmas out front too but then we realized we are much more into decorating for Halloween,” said Victoria Pottorf-Kindle, daughter. “We’re definitely thinking about Halloween all year round always thinking of new ideas and how we want to incorporate them into the haunt.”

It is free to go through the haunt and all donations will go towards Fairfield Hose Company.
