City of Erie launches phase one of its historic resources survey

The City of Erie is launching its three-phase historic resources survey, and officials are asking the community to share the unique histories and cultures that have shaped Erie.

Erie is rich in history and culture, but the city needs help preserving that legacy.

The city is now in phase one of its citywide historic research survey, with a goal of identifying important historical and cultural aspects of the city.

“We have so much in Erie. There’s so much historically and architecturally. There’s a lot of architecture in Erie that needs to be preserved, and what this survey will do is identify those buildings and places and determine really what merits either a historic destination or preservation,” said David Brennan, architect/chair of the Historic Review Commission.
