Vice presidential candidate JD Vance highlights key issues at second Erie rally

Nearly two months after making an appearance, Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance was back in Erie County.

About 400 people gathered at Penn State Behrend’s campus to hear the Ohio senator rally for 35 minutes.

As Election Day approaches, local organizations aim to encourage voter participation

Vance began his speech on “how” and “why” the campaign plans to turn the region red, touching on top issues across the Commonwealth such as inflated prices, the fentanyl crisis and the southern border.

Then discussing democratic efforts, referring to presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ campaign strategy.

“The theme of her whole campaign is that she would not do what Joe Biden would do. She’d be somehow different even though she’s the sitting vice president so she asked her name one thing you would have done differently from Joe Biden over the last four years,” said Vance. “Then she says well nothing comes to mind.”

One attendee believed Vance complements presidential nominee Donald Trump well, praising the way he respects his challengers.
