Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota is returning to Erie Thursday, five days before voters head to the polls to end a long and contentious presidential election campaign.
The time, location and other details of Walz appearance Thursday have not been released.
First stop in Erie
Walz last appeared in Erie on Sept. 5 , days after his GOP counterpart, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, addressed a crowd of 200 at Team Hardinger , a trucking and warehousing company, on Aug. 28. Vance spoke again in Erie County on Saturday , addressing 650 people at Penn State Behrend.
Walz addressed campaign volunteers at the Harris for President campaign headquarters on West Eighth Street and then stopped at Sara’s Restaurant at Presque Isle State Park, sharing a late lunch with his daughter Hope. He capped off the day with a rally in front of 2,500 people at Highmark Amphitheater at Liberty Park on the Bayfront Corridor.
On Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton will be in Erie for a get-out-the-vote event for Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris. Details of Clinton’s appearance also have not yet been released by the campaign.
