National Chemistry Week wrapped up with a fun event for kids.
Erie’s local section of the American Chemical Society displayed science activities that celebrate the importance of chemistry in everyday life.

Local chemists and students from regional colleges and universities showcased several different experiments for kids.
Activities included UV light beads, rainbow spectroscopes, dry ice bubbles and more.

One student said he hopes to inspire kids to see the fun in chemistry.
“Definitely to inspire kids, I tutor at Behrend, I’m hoping to become a professor someday. The big thing for me is spreading it around and spreading the love about chemistry,” said Ben Lindquist, a chemistry student at Penn State Behrend.
The event ended at 2:00 p.m.
