Man arrested after attempting to start fire in Dollar General

A Mill Village man is in custody after police said he broke into a Dollar General and attempted to start a fire.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a report of an alarm at the Dollar General on West Center Street in Waterford.

The front glass door was broken upon arrival.

Video surveillance reportedly showed a man breaking the door with a hammer and entering the store.

Inside, he took a lighter and attempted to start a blanket on fire.

Police later arrested 53-year-old Henry Lee Sherwood on charges of burglary, arson, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
