A government study commission will be seated in Millcreek Township this fall.
Millcreek voters approved a ballot referendum creating the commission, voting 59% to 41% in favor of the initiative Tuesday, according to unofficial election results .
Voters also elected seven commission members:
- Sue Weber, former Millcreek Township supervisor and Erie County controller;
- Donna Shaw, consultant with AFLAC;
- Bill Schaaf, retired Marine Corps officer and businessman;
- Art Oligeri, retired business owner and chairman of the citizens’ group supporting the study;
- John DiPlacido, retired engineer, former Millcreek school director and member of the township zoning hearing board;
- James DeDad, retired from Erie Insurance; and,
- Paul Vojtek, retired chief executive and chief financial officer for Erie Water Works.
How will the study work?
The commission is required by state law to meet for the first time within 15 days after election results are certified. Members will elect officers and set meeting dates during that organizational meeting.
